Job summary

GCI seeks a Construction & Implementation Technician III for statewide field work in Alaska. You will design, construct, install, test, and maintain network facilities and architectures across multiple plant environments, collaborating with engineering, operations, and customers.

The role requires coordinating resources, ensuring safety, and delivering documentation and updates using PC and mobile tools. Travel to lower 48 may occur occasionally.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 8+ years in telecommunications or related field, with 3+ years in complex network experience.
• NCTI System Technician certification or enrollment within 90 days; complete within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Construct and implement network facilities and delivery architecture to maintain network integrity.
• Install and test video, voice, and data circuits/equipment per standards.
• Assist with field installations, troubleshoot and turn-up equipment statewide.
• Read and interpret system maps, engineering drawings, and work orders.
• Coordinate resources (installers, electricians, HVAC) and communicate with teams and customers.
