Job summary

Astreya seeks a Field Technician III to provide on-site data center and POP support across assigned locations in the United States. You will coordinate with network teams and local vendors for installation, repair and maintenance activities, deploying rack-and-stack configurations with hands-on expertise.

Travel is required to fulfill responsibilities. You will perform site surveys, audits, and coordinate with LECs and other technicians to ensure timely work.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
• 5+ years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with data center and POP infrastructure, including OSP/ISP, cabling, power systems and environmental controls.
• Experience installing and maintaining telecom/network equipment (DWDMs, routers, IP switches) and related testing.
• Ability to work with LECs, landlords, electricians, and end users.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, workflow and project management apps.
• Experience with a Tier-1 ITSM platform.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high quality standards in all data center locations and POPs.
• Perform physical installation, repair, maintenance and testing with meticulous attention to quality.
• Perform card adds or replacements, software upgrades, and testing.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance network asset quality and efficiency.
• Provide site survey support for OSP/ISP projects and large space/power deployments.
• Perform site audits and reconcile data discrepancies with Network Surveillance.
• Manage local construction vendors to ensure installation standards and cleanliness.
• Coordinate with LECs and other technicians to facilitate timely installation, repair and maintenance.
• Carry out site surveys for network builds, augments or decommissions.
• Coordinate site access, equipment staging and other tasks.
