Job summary

Terracon is seeking a Field Technician to perform field testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials on project sites in Colorado. You will communicate with project managers, technicians, client representatives, and others regarding testing requirements and results, and submit data and observations in reports for daily transmittal to the Terracon Project Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 6 months experience in field testing or construction materials preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist on tasks under supervision and perform basic testing and observation duties.
• Arrive at project sites in a timely manner.
• Submit clear and accurate documentation of findings daily.
• Communicate with dispatcher, project manager and contractor regularly.
• Will be placed in progressively increased training and responsibility in work assignments.

Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client representative, contractor’s representative and others as applicable regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results. Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis. Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observation in the form of written and digital reports as work is performed for daily transmittal to the Terracon Project Manager. Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas. May assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites. Adhere to strict safety standards, including driving.

Essential Roles And Responsibilities

• Under close supervision of higher-level technicians or staff professionals, assist on tasks and perform basic testing and observations duties.
• Arrive to project sites in a timely manner.
• Submits clear and accurate documentation of findings and results daily.
• Communicates with dispatcher, project manager and contractor on a regular basis.
• Submits documentation and communicates results as directed by the Project Manager
• Will be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments.
• Maintains assigned equipment and vehicle in clean working order.
• Drive a vehicle such as a Ford F-150 or equivalent.
• Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Perform pre-task planning prior to executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
• Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 6 months experience required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

Preferred Certification

• ACI Field Grade I Certification
• WAQTC Certification

Required Certification

• Obtain ACI Field I certification within 90 days of hire.
• Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
