Job summary

Brevard County is seeking a Junior Party Chief to join a survey field crew and operate instruments such as theodolites, digital levels, GPS gear, and Trimble data collectors. The role includes preparing field notes and sketches and performing survey calculations for monuments, boundaries, and construction layouts.

Open to candidates with four years of field survey experience or three years of college toward a technical degree plus one year of related work.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of field survey experience working under supervision of a Registered Land Surveyor and Mapper; OR three (3) years of college-level coursework towards a technical degree PLUS one (1) year of survey or construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs experienced technical field work as part of a survey field crew, serving as a Junior Party Chief, operating survey instruments, including theodolites, digital levels, GPS equipment, and data collectors with Trimble software and preparing field notes and sketches.
• Work includes performing field survey calculations for monument searches, boundary determinations, sectional breakdowns, and construction layout.
