Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Structural Project Inspector based in Culpeper, VA to provide inspection support for bridges, soundwalls, retaining walls and other structures. This role involves working at heights and coordinating with project teams.

Candidates should have 4+ years of structural inspection experience, be a U.S. citizen, have a valid driver’s license, and be prepared for NICET certification or field-testing trainings. Hourly compensation ranges from $33 to $50.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of experience or equivalent
• U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of work
• Valid US Driver’s License to visit project sites and offices (MVRecs check)

Responsibilities

• Oversees and perform field inspections to monitor road conditions, bridges, road construction, and traffic, and material in road construction and repair
• Reviews construction, maintenance or traffic projects for compliance with project specifications and plans
• Compile quantities, reviews construction reports, generate daily inspection reports and a daily diary of work completed by contractors
• Coach, mentor, and recommend training for staff
• Participate in various contractual meetings
• Identify and document deficiencies, non-conformances, and safety hazards observed during inspections and communicate findings to project management
• Verify material quality, testing results, and certifications to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards
• Maintain detailed inspection records, photographs, and documentation per project requirements
• Conduct quality assurance reviews and follow-up inspections to verify corrective actions
• Communicate findings with stakeholders (contractors, engineers, clients)
