Job summary

ATCS Inc. is seeking a Senior Bridge Inspector for our Construction Services group in the Culpeper area of Virginia. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience inspecting bridges and related structures, using engineering judgment to assess structural soundness and compliance with NBIS and other regulations.

We are located in Culpeper and serve surrounding areas down to Charlottesville. Responsibilities include supporting bridge inspection prep, collecting reports, coordinating routes,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is desired but not required.
• Previous bridge construction inspection training or certifications desired.
• Willingness to travel within Virginia
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects and meet multiple deadlines
• Valid Drivers’ License

Responsibilities

• Support preparation of bridge inspections by collecting bridge reports and data, gathering equipment, coordinating inspection routes, etc.
• Perform inspection work of bridges and foundations as required for structural integrity, general safety, ensuring continued compliance to specifications and codes (such as National Bridge Inspection Standards and FHWA bridge inspection metrics).
• Compile necessary reports for Inspection Team Leaders to review
• Conduct research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, infrastructure, and transportation channels, etc. to determine compliance with rules, standards, and construction or operating permits.
• Receive additional direction from Team Leaders, Project Managers or other senior-level Technical staff.
