Job summary

Raft is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to serve as an embedded technical lead at Aberdeen Proving Ground. You'll work directly with Army customers to integrate and operationalize Raft's products while writing code and enhancing existing features.

Ideal candidates will have over 5 years of software engineering experience, active Secret clearance, and proficiency in backend languages such as Go, Java, or Rust. This role requires a commitment to DevSecOps practices and strong customer-facing skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Active Secret clearance required; U.S. citizenship required.
• Demonstrated ability to build runbooks and reproducible procedures.

Responsibilities

• Serve as embedded senior technical lead at Aberdeen Proving Ground.
• Own end-to-end product deployment and fielding.
• Write and contribute production-quality code.

Skills

Production coding in Go, Java, or Rust

DevSecOps practices

Kubernetes proficiency

Scripting in Bash and Python

Understanding of Army mission and data sources

Customer-facing skills

Self-direction and decision making

Education

5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience

Ability to obtain Security+ certification
