Job summary

XNRGY Climate Systems is seeking a senior HVAC field service engineer to support data-center and industrial projects across North America. You’ll be hands-on with high-performance equipment, perform commissioning, start-up, electrical and controls verification, and travel to customer sites.

This role offers strong overtime potential, exposure to advanced BAS/BACnet systems, and the chance to contribute to cutting-edge AI-ready infrastructure. Frequent travel and extended hours are expected.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in HVAC field service, commissioning, HVAC controls, or industrial/mechanical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
• Experience with HVAC controls, Building Automation Systems (BAS), BACnet, Modbus, PLCs, or similar control platforms is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rework & Completion: Prepare and finalize units for field deployment, ensuring quality and readiness.
• Start-Up & Commissioning: Perform electrical, mechanical, and HVAC controls verification (L2–L5).
• Field Service: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC and cooling systems, including controls and automation components, on-site.
• Customer Support: Represent the company in the field with strong communication and professionalism.
• Documentation: Complete service reports, track issues, and support continuous improvement.

About the Role

Join a fast-growing service team supporting mission-critical cooling systems for data centers and advanced industrial environments. You’ll be hands-on with high-performance HVAC equipment, HVAC controls, traveling to job sites, commissioning systems, and ensuring peak performance in the field.

This is a high-impact, travel-intensive role with strong earning potential through overtime and travel.

Travel & Location

• Typical schedule: 2 weeks in the field / 1 week home (flexible based on projects)

• Open to candidates based anywhere in the United States, with preference for candidates located near major airports

• Primary project locations include customer sites throughout the East Coast of the USA, Montreal, Quebec, and other locations across North America as business needs require

• Frequent travel to support commissioning, start-up, service, and warranty activities at customer facilities

What You Bring

• 7+ years of experience in HVAC field service, commissioning, HVAC controls, or industrial/mechanical systems

• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and controls systems

• Experience with HVAC controls, Building Automation Systems (BAS), BACnet, Modbus, PLCs, or similar control platforms is highly preferred

• Experience with commissioning/start-up is a plus

• Willingness to travel frequently (50–80%)

• Ability to work extended hours and overtime as needed

• Strong communication and customer-facing skills
