Job summary

BearCom is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician to install and support wireless communications systems for public safety and enterprise clients. You will work on complex radio systems, require strong customer service skills, and deliver high-quality service solutions in a fast-paced field environment.

The role involves programming codeplugs, installing UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz systems, and related equipment, with some travel and on-call hours.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of service technician experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment in the two-way radio wireless field.
• Extensive knowledge of 2-way radio theory and RF propagation characteristics at various frequency bands.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Knowledge of battery backup systems, base stations, repeaters, multi-couplers and duplexers, basic TCP/IP principles and NIC programming.
• Proficiency with test equipment including spectrum analyzers, watt meters, TDRs, FDRs, and multimeters.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel).
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
• Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent.
• R56 Certified Installer
• Motorola Astro 4x-7x training providing support for various system operations.
• Certifications in MotoTRBO products (Connect+, Capacity+, Linked Capacity+, IP Site Connect, Capacity Max).
• Knowledge of audio, RF, digital, and microprocessor circuits in communications equipment.

Responsibilities

• Create High-Level Programming Codeplugs for P25, Linked CAP+, CAP MAX, and Repeaters.
• Install and service complex wireless communications systems (UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz, dispatch consoles, DAS).
• Provide system recommendations and designs that meet customer requirements.
• Some regional and/or overnight travel and on-call hours may be required.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Senior Field Service Technician with BearCom, you will be responsible for the installation and support of wireless communications systems, including complex radio systems for public safety and enterprise customers.

The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service and possess the technical ability to create imaginative solutions that meet and exceed the most challenging customer needs.

• Create High-Level Programming Codeplugs (e.g. P25, Linked CAP+, CAP MAX, Repeaters)
• Install and Service Complex Wireless Communications Systems (e.g. UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz Systems, Dispatch Consoles, BDA/DAS Systems, Microwave Systems, Wireless Broadband Devices, CCTV Equipment)
• Provide System Recommendations and Designs That Meet Customer Requirements
• Some regional and/or overnight travel and on-call hours may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Service Technician experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment in the2-way radio wireless and /or communication field.
• Extensive knowledge/understanding of 2-way radio theory, RF propagation characteristics at various frequency bands and communications systems.

• Proficiency in operating various test equipment including but not limited to, spectrum analyzers, system analyzers, watt meters, TDR’s, FDR’s, and multi-meters.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Candidates must possess clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
• Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent.
• R56 Certified Installer
• Motorola Astro 4x-7x training providing support for various system operations.
• Certification in various MotoTRBO products and systems (Connect+, Capacity+, Linked Capacity+, IP Site Connect, Capacity Max, etc.)
• Knowledge of audio, RF, digital, and microprocessor electronic circuits found in communications equipment at the component level.
• Security Clearance a plus.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Drug screenings and background checks are part of the hiring process, which may also include a Motor Vehicle Record check.
