Job summary

Stewart & Stevenson is seeking a Field Service Technician III to diagnose and repair oil-field equipment at customer sites in Houston, TX. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on equipment including compressors and generators, and perform routine maintenance and commissioning tests.

The role requires reading wiring diagrams and schematics, plus experience with various compressor brands.

Qualifications

• Diagnose problems and perform complex repairs on customer equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams and pneumatic schematics.
• Troubleshoot and repair portable and stationary compressors (electric/diesel).

Responsibilities

• Accurately troubleshoot and diagnose problems with customer's equipment.
• Identify and order parts needed for repairs and maintenance.
• Perform complex repairs on customer's equipment and replace parts as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance per guidelines and schedules.
• Complete work orders and time sheets clearly and timely.
• Assist junior technicians as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Work according to safety procedures and quality standards.
• Lead generator commissioning activities and tests.
• Read and understand service publications for troubleshooting and repair.
