Smartsheet is seeking a Sr. Security Engineer I to accelerate deals while shaping platform security features. You’ll work with customer security leaders to communicate the product security posture and collaborate with engineering to meet real-world requirements.

You will bridge regulatory controls with cloud configurations, support security incidents, and present at industry events and customer councils. This role emphasizes security evangelism and deal acceleration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cyber security in security engineering/architecture or sales engineering
• Familiar with NIST 800-53, ISO, SOC 2, FedRAMP, GDPR, HIPAA
• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to influence stakeholders
• Experience conducting security reviews and threat modeling on infra, software, and services
• Experience explaining security controls to customers and translating needs into technical specs

Responsabilités

• Advise enterprise customers on Smartsheet security, compliance and risk.
• Evaluate customer infra for secure automation without compromising security.
• Present scan results and remediations to customers and explain deviations.
• Bridge FedRAMP, NIST 800-53 language with Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD and cloud configs.
• Support major security incidents and ensure lessons learned drive improvements.
• Represent Smartsheet security strategy at events and customer councils.
• Respond to complex customer security questionnaires using automation/AI tooling.
• Define technical specs for security features with engineering and product teams.
• Translate customer concerns and regulatory needs into clear internal problem definitions.
• Create technical assets like white papers, code, blogs, and video demos.
