Job summary

Henkels & McCoy West in Hayward, CA seeks an experienced Senior Field Safety Specialist to drive safety initiatives across utility construction operations. You will ensure regulatory compliance, mentor personnel, and lead continuous improvement on assigned projects.

The role requires 5–8 years of field safety leadership, OSHA knowledge, and strong communication. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred and a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; safety-focused education is a plus.
• 5–8 years of construction or utility safety experience with field leadership.
• Experience in power transmission and distribution construction preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Advise personnel on safety policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct safety inspections of sites, facilities, equipment, and operations.
• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses.
• Develop corrective action plans and monitor implementation.
• Perform JHAs, risk assessments, and safety audits.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs for staff and subcontractors.
• Mentor junior safety professionals and field personnel.
• Analyze safety data and incident trends to identify risks.
• Lead emergency drills and crisis management planning.
• Interface with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies on safety matters.
