Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Construction Lead Mechanical Field Engineer to lead the mechanical field engineering team on a major renewables project. Based in Reston, VA with mobilization to project sites, you will interpret drawings, supervise installation of rotating equipment, tanks, vessels, HRSGs and related systems while coordinating with engineering, procurement and construction teams.

Requires a bachelor’s degree and 8–14 years of relevant experience; strong leadership, communication and safety

Qualifications

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Experience on combined cycle facilities is preferred.
Knowledge of rotating equipment, tanks & vessels, centerline equipment and HRSG installation preferred.
Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams.
Must have work authorization within the United States of America.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with engineering on constructability and design issues relating to the mechanical discipline.
Coordinate with engineering and procurement for modularization planning to meet AW/Advanced Work Packaging programs.
Responsible for quantity take-off, control, tracking, reporting and forecasting for mechanical discipline.
Direct the preparation of requisitions for field procured materials and equipment.
Review material receiving reports and warehousing to assure delivery of correct mechanical materials & components.
Interface with Project Controls for submittal of quantities to ePCWorks.
