PhoenixAI, the Agentic AI Database, seeks a senior Field Marketing Manager to own in-person event programs from strategy through execution. You will manage meetups, executive receptions, and major conferences, partnering with DevRel and Community to convert community activity into measurable business outcomes.

The role requires 5+ years in tech startup event marketing, a strong open-source network, and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in field or event marketing at a fast-growing tech startup.
• Experience organizing events for open-source or developer communities.
• Existing network in open-source data ecosystem (StarRocks, Apache, Linux Foundation).
• End-to-end event planning in fast-moving, resource-constrained environments.
• Able to work cross-functionally with Solutions Architects, Product Managers, and DevRel.
• Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends as needed.
• Based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of PhoenixAI's in-person events—from strategy to reporting.
• Build and run monthly Bay Area meetups and other city events with speakers from the community.
• Plan and host quarterly executive customer receptions with Sales and Customer Success.
• Lead presence at major conferences and partner events (e.g., AWS re:Invent).
• Source speakers, co-hosts, and venues from open-source community networks.
• Define event objectives and design metrics for lead gen, pipeline influence, or awareness.
• Handle venue, sponsorships, vendors, catering, booth setup, and travel logistics.
• Create event content: landing pages, invites, social posts, emails, and run-of-show materials.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support demos and event content.
