Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to support construction management for highway, bridge, and design-build projects in and around the Bristol, VA area. The role requires leadership of junior staff, coordination with state and federal agencies, and critical field oversight to ensure compliance with plans and safety standards.

You will review project measurements, maintain records, and participate in change order analyses while interfacing with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum seven (7) years of relevant experience in construction inspection, materials, standards, and specifications on state highway projects

Responsibilities

• Provide construction management support, including inspection and monitoring of roadway and structures to ensure compliance with plans, specifications and safety regulations
• Independently coordinate and direct all phases of construction inspection on complex projects
• Lead and monitor work products of junior inspectors and provide technical supervision
• Lead project meetings with stakeholders and interface with clients and agencies
• Review lines, grades, dimensions and elevations using survey field equipment
• Document contractor activities and non-compliant work elements
• Maintain comprehensive project records and daily reporting
• Assist in schedule, budget and change order analysis
