Job summary

Technibus, Inc. is seeking a Senior Field Engineer – Structured Cabling in Urbandale, IA to lead installation, testing, and support of structured cabling systems in commercial and data center environments.

You will mentor junior technicians, review project documents, and ensure safety and quality standards are met in collaboration with customers and vendors. The role requires extensive field experience with copper and fiber cabling, adherence to BICSI/TIA/NEC standards, and hands-on testing

Qualifications

Minimum five (5) years of supervisory or managerial experience.
Minimum of three (3) years as Lead Communications Technician or similar role.
Minimum of five (5) years in telecommunications or related field.
Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
Ability to define projects, create scopes, estimates and manage tasks to completion.
Familiar with punch tools and block testing equipment.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and mentors for field technicians and project teams.
Lead installation, termination, testing and certification of copper and fiber cabling.
Review drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with standards.
Identify and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning.
Coordinate field activities with project managers, customers and subcontractors.
Promote safety policies and ensure OSHA compliance in the field.
