Hill International, Inc. seeks a Resident Engineer to oversee heavy civil and rail projects in New Jersey, including strong contract administration and field oversight. This role collects resumes for upcoming work across South, Central, and North Jersey.

You will review specifications, monitor progress, and prepare change orders while ensuring site safety and accurate records. A PE or CCM is preferred, with extensive leadership experience in construction management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction management of heavy civil engineering projects.
• Approximately 5 years of supervisory experience in the management of heavy civil infrastructure construction.
• Experience as a Resident Engineer, Construction Manager, or Project Manager on rail projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer and/or Certified Construction Manager preferred.

Responsabilités

• Administer the construction contract and review work for compliance with governing specifications.
• Review work progress for compliance with the contract documents.
• Prepare contract change orders to resolve conflicts and/or improvements.
• Ensure job site safety by observing contractor operations and traffic conditions and taking corrective action.
• Perform field inspections to determine compliance with plans, specs, and pro‑visions.
• Prepare reports and maintain project records.
• Document as‑built condition of constructed facilities.
• Review CPM schedule and mitigate project risks.
• Complete daily diaries of activities and discussions with the Senior Construction Manager.
• Assist in resolution of contractor disputes in a timely manner.
• Prepare draft claim reports when required.
