American Bridge Company seeks a Senior Field Engineer to start on a Caribbean-based project, overseeing design and construction of marine port facilities and adjacent structures. You will handle site surveys, submittals, quantities, and means of construction while ensuring safety and quality.
The role requires a Civil Engineering background, 0–5 years of marine construction experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD with MS Office. Relocation to Caribbean sites is expected as regional needs arise.
The Senior Field Engineer positionwillbegin their assignment at a Project based in the Caribbean and will assist with managing the design and construction of marine port facilities and marine adjacent structures, including but not limited to site survey, engineering submittals, quantity tracking and development of means and methods of construction. Responsibilities include, but not limited to site safety requirements, construction schedule updates, contract and budget management, construction and engineering work plan development and ensuring that work completed on site meets the quality control requirements of the contract.
Must work well with other Field Engineers, Project Managers, Superintendents and Craft Personnel on the project. May have supervisory responsibilities of Field Engineers on project depending project assignment.
A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts related to structural engineering and related calculations. Individual should some level of business acumen, including knowledge of operating expenses, profit, etc. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software, reporting tools related to databases. Must have the ability to learn design software programs. Experience with Primavera P6, Procore and JD Edwards a plus.
