Job description

The Project Manager position will be responsible for assisting the Operations Manager on a major Marine project in the South Florida/Caribbean area. This position will manage budgets, track progress, oversee the existing workforce, and complete the project on time and under budget. It is a full‑time position with American Bridge, offering full benefits, vacation, holiday, and a living allowance.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Project Manager for moderate to major projects or multiple smaller projects.
  • Manage budgets, schedules, cost forecasting, change orders, claims, safety, staff, and other project aspects.
  • Perform constructability reviews, scheduling, resource utilization, design/scope change reviews, quality assurance, quality control, purchase orders, subcontracts, resolution of field and technical anomalies, interfaces with inspection agencies, permitting issues, and project closeouts.
  • Supervise Field Engineers and the existing craft workforce.
Requirements
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 5–8 years of experience with exposure to projects of a major scope.
  • Customer liaison activity.
  • Must be legally able to work in the United States.
  • Must be willing to work in a drug‑free environment and agree to a post‑offer drug test.
  • Must be willing to work safely and keep OSHA recordable incidents to a minimum.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards and construction software; proficiency with MS Office.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively plan and organize to meet project deadlines.
  • Current driver’s license.
Education and Experience

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Skills and Abilities

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence; present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical skills: ability to work with concepts related to structural engineering, business acumen, knowledge of operating expenses, profit, and application of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

Reasoning ability: solve practical problems and handle a variety of variables in situations with limited standardization; interpret instructions delivered in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer skills: proficiency with spreadsheet software and word processing software, database reporting tools, and the ability to learn design software programs.
