Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Senior Field Engineer in Portsmouth, VA to build and test hardware/software for Windows and Nutanix systems, patch devices, and support on-site integrations.

The candidate will troubleshoot RF/time systems, log site tickets, and repair legacy hardware while validating customer specifications. A Secret clearance is required at start with potential Top Secret clearance later, and 25% travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Requires related bachelor’s degree and 9+ years of experience or a Master’s degree with 7+ years of experience.
• Electronics, computers, or networking technical training or Navy electronics C school.
• Experience in C4I systems environments (requirements, testing, evaluation).
• Must obtain CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CASP within 6 months of hire.
• Active Secret clearance at start; must obtain Top Secret clearance later.
• Experience building and installing infrastructure.
• U.S. Passport required.

• Troubleshoot technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications.

• Troubleshoot serial connections.

• Troubleshoot network connectivity.

• Troubleshoot RF and time systems.

• Log and respond to site tickets.

• Troubleshoot legacy hardware and repair units for system sustainment.

• Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications.

• Acts as local on-site representative to customer organization.

• Participates in on site system integrations.

• Develops and updates system and process documentation as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Related bachelor's and nine (9) years or more experience or Master's degree and seven (7) years or more experience

• Technical Training in Electronics, Computers, or Networking or successful completion of U.S. Navy electronics “C” school.

• Experience in C4I Systems environments to include: systems requirements, operational requirements, test and evaluation.

• Must be able to obtain a CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CASP certification within 6 months of hire.

• Must have an active Secret security clearance to start and then must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

• Experience building and installing infrastructure.

• Must be able to obtain U.S. Passport.

• Up to 25% CONUS/OCONUS travel required.
