Job summary

Amtrak is seeking a Sr Field Electrical Engineer - Traction Power in New York to lead commissioning processes and ensure ET standards across major capital projects. You will collaborate with the Capital Delivery Team to manage commissioning checklists, review milestone documents, and improve document control while prioritizing safety.

The role requires broad experience in ET maintenance, drafting (AutoCAD), and project auditing, with travel up to 25% and four in-office days per week at Moyniman

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; equivalent considered.
• 6 years of relevant experience required.
• 10 years experience with railroad electric traction systems (preferred).
• Engineering in Training (EIT) Certification is beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the System ET Commissioning Process.
• Review in-service commissioning documents for ET standards and drawings.
• Assist with the ET Aerial Program and ET field safety audits.
• Assist with ET Engineering Practices reviews and creations.
• Support documentation organization and project audits.
