Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is the world’s largest equipment rental provider. A Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech IV - Field Service) will perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment with limited supervision while traveling to customer sites to ensure exceptional service.

We value safety, independence, and teamwork, with opportunities to advance in our Service Department. Requires 5+ years of experience and owning the necessary tools for the role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics.
• Own the tools applicable to the position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental/customer equipment with limited supervision.
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Document work orders daily in paper/electronic form.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties as assigned.
