Job summary

EDG Inc. in New Orleans is seeking a Sr. Field Construction Supervisor to oversee, lead and coordinate the construction phase of projects for substations and transmission lines through commissioning and closeout.

Responsibilities cover project scope, schedules, outage planning, safety and environmental compliance as well as QA/QC across multiple sites. The role reports to the Utility Construction Manager and requires experience in utility transmission/distribution, strong knowledge of OSHA

Qualifications

• Requires ten (10) to fifteen (15) years experience in the Electric Utility Transmission or Distribution.
• Must be knowledgeable and be able to interpret and cite OSHA regulations and provide guidance to construction crews and upper management on the proper application of these regulations.

Responsibilities

• Participate as a member of project teams to assist others in the development of project scope, project cost estimate, project schedule.
• Participate on site field / scope visits
• Assist others in developing schedule including critical paths
• Assist others in developing detailed construction plans and identify outage requirements to implement new facilities
• Coordinate with Environmental Contractors on the sampling and removal of oil from devices taken out of service
• Ensure contractor activities do not compromise system reliability
• Perform QA/QC activities on all phases of the project
• Log construction progress and keep field notes
