Job summary

BioMarin is seeking a Senior Clinical Coordinator to educate patients, caregivers, and staff, and to manage access pathways from referral to infusion. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration and ensuring timely therapy initiation.

The candidate will coordinate with FRMs, specialty pharmacies, and nursing teams, while maintaining HIPAA compliance and adhering to regulatory requirements. Travel up to 50% is required; California residency near a major airport is preferred.

Qualifications

• 6+ years pharmaceutical experience as a patient educator.
• Allied health education preferred (BSN or advanced practitioner).
• Prior sales experience desired; cross-functional team experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Salesforce.com; excellent written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide product education and logistical assistance to patients, caregivers, HCP, and site-of-care staff.
• Work with patients to complete steps for access to therapy; use approved educational materials.
• Collaborate with account teams to move cases to specialty pharmacy/clinic shipment/therapy start.
• Ensure timely therapy initiation and adherence-related activities for patients.
• Secure written/electronic HIPAA consent for patients in assigned geography.
• Conduct ongoing education on disease and product administration technique.
• Educate patients on coverage/prior authorization steps based on benefits.
• Coordinate with FRMs to investigate access challenges pre- and post-infusion.
• Coordinate with specialty pharmacy nursing teams for home infusion support.
• Partner with Safety/PV and report AE’s and product complaints.
• Maintain compliance with professional standards and applicable federal/state/local requirements.
• Influence cross-functionally; share best practices; drive solutions; support initiatives.
