Job summary

TAI is seeking a Senior Field Automation & Controls Engineer to lead system improvements, troubleshoot and optimize control platforms across diverse projects. This role blends hands-on engineering with project leadership and strategic problem-solving.

You will mentor controls engineers, collaborate with clients to translate business goals into engineering solutions, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Ten years of industry experience.
• At least five years with industrial controls using Allen Bradley / Rockwell hardware.
• Experience with HMI/SCADA; ICONICS GENESIS64 preferred.
• Knowledge of boilers, chillers, pumps, valves, building automation.
• Experience in leadership or supervisory roles.
• Strong project management and strategic problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Being a Subject Matter Expert on the automation & controls system and provide consult to all the stakeholders.
• Work with a team of controls engineers and technicians; provide guidance and mentorship.
• Implement small control system related continuous improvement projects.
• Programming changes to the PLC and HMI system.
• Troubleshooting automation and controls systems related issues.
• Manage TAI’s field office: coordinate PM schedules, review reports, oversee Control Techs.
• Support and supervise Control Techs in calibration and maintenance of controls devices.
• Interface with clients to translate needs into exceptional designs.
• Ensure projects meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.

Here’s a Glimpse Into Your Day To Day

• Being a Subject Matter Expert on the automation & controls system and provide consult to all the stakeholders.
• Work with a talented team of controls engineers and technicians; providing guidance and mentorship.
• Implementing small control system related continuous improvement projects.
• Programing changes to the PLC and HMI system.
• Troubleshooting automation and controls systems related issues.
• Management of TAI’s field office. Which includes
  • Coordinating the schedule of PM and other work with the customer and control techs.
  • Review of all reports generated.
  • Front line oversight of the 2 Control Techs
• Support and supervise Control Techs in the calibration and maintenance of controls devices. Examples of such devices are Pressure, Temperature, Level and Flow Transmitters, Motor starters, VFDs, Analyzers, and valves.
• PLC System software support, to include updating regularly released patches and version upgrades by Allen Bradley or other PLC manufacturers.
• Interface with clients to understand their needs and translate them into exceptional designs.
• Ensure projects meet all regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Stay on top of emerging technologies and industry trends.

You’ll Be a Perfect Fit If You Have

• Minimum of ten (10) years’ industry experience.
• Minimum 5 years with industrial controls with Allen Bradley / Rockwell Hardware.
• Experience with HMI/SCADA is required, preferably with ICONICS GENESIS64 HMI software package.
• Experience with boilers, chillers, pumps, valves, building automation, and/or related systems.
• Management or supervisory experience a plus
• Control system design experience is a plus.
• Exceptional communication skills to collaborate with a diverse team and clientele.
• A strong understanding of project management principles and best practices.
• The ability to think strategically and translate our client’s business goals into engineering solutions.

Compensation And Benefits

• Pay: $120,000-170,000 annually (depending upon experience).
• Eligible for overtime pay
• Annual Profit Sharing Bonus (variable)
