Job summary

The Atlantic Council is seeking a Resident Senior Fellow for the Project on Middle East Integration in Washington, DC. This leadership role will shape the project’s research agenda, recruit and manage Nonresident Senior Fellows, and oversee programming and engagements.

You will work with SMESI leadership to design partnerships and funding proposals, lead outreach to government, donors, and media, and manage daily operations and budget.

Qualifications

• Extensive background in Middle East studies, political science, international relations, or a related field.
• Ten or more years of experience in US government, NGOs, or think tanks related to regional integration.
• Proven track record of managing policy and research teams.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
• Strong analytical and writing skills in English for long reports and short articles.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Project on Middle East Integration's research agenda and programming.
• Recruit and manage Nonresident Senior Fellows and oversee activities and engagements.
• Design and draft partnership and funding proposals; lead outreach to peers and collaborators.
• Represent the Project with government officials, donors, media, and academic institutions.
• Oversee Europe-Gulf Forum activities and liaison with Gulf invitees.
