The Role

The Senior Fellow, Instinct Products & Roadmap is a recognized technical authority responsible for shaping the long-term technology direction of AMD Instinct™ products. This role operates at the intersection of advanced technology exploration, product architecture, customer engagement, and strategic planning, ensuring future Instinct platforms deliver industry-leading performance for AI training and inference workloads.

As a Senior Fellow, you will guide preconcept and early concept initiatives, influence multigeneration roadmaps, and partner deeply with engineering, product management, business development, and customers to translate emerging technologies into differentiated products.

As Instinct continues to scale in AI training and inference markets, this role ensures AMD is not just reacting to workloads, but shaping them—driving differentiated architectures, system solutions, and customer partnerships that define future generations of Instinct products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate exploration of new technologies relevant to Instinct products, identifying opportunities that meaningfully impact AI performance, efficiency, scalability, and deploy-ability.
  • Guide technical direction of preconcept and early concept programs, providing Fellow-level architectural leadership to shape viable product paths before formal product definition.
  • Engage with engineering teams across silicon, systems, software, and platforms to address critical technical challenges and drive cross-stack optimization.
  • Partner with customers and strategic partners to understand workload requirements, co-develop optimized solutions, and influence Instinct product and platform roadmaps.
  • Collaborate closely with the business development organization on strategic client engagements, serving as a senior technical voice in customer discussions and long-range planning.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to product management, helping translate market and customer needs into coherent, forward-looking product strategies.
  • Represent AMD and the Instinct organization in executive, customer, and industry forums as a trusted technical leader.
Required Experience
  • Deep experience architecting cutting-edge SoCs or systems for AI training and inference workloads.
  • Strong understanding of AI workloads, including performance characteristics and their implications for SoC, system, and cluster-level design.
  • Broad technical background spanning the full stack, from semiconductor process technology and SoC design through platforms, systems, and software.
  • Proven ability to partner with customers to define and deliver highly optimized, workload-driven solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience guiding technology exploration across multiple technical domains and translating innovation into product-relevant outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a track record of influence in executive reviews, customer engagements, and industry-level technical discussions.
