Job summary

Bunge in Omaha, Nebraska, is seeking a senior commodity merchant to lead day-to-day merchandising and risk-managed trading across feed ingredient markets. You will steer strategies, optimize profitability, and manage capital within VAR limits, coordinating with risk, operations, and finance teams.

The role requires 5+ years in commodity merchandising, strong market analysis skills, and proven P&L management.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Agribusiness, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
5+ years of experience in commodity merchandising with feed ingredients focus.
Proven experience managing a P&L and profitability.
Ability to manage trading positions within VAR and position limits.
Strong knowledge of commodity markets, trading strategies, and risk management practices.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills.
Proficiency in commodity trading software and market analysis tools.

Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day merchandising of a specific commodity market or markets.
Execute merchandising strategies to grow market share and optimize profitability.
Deploy risk capital within approved VAR and position limits.
Execute risk management strategies to protect the business from market volatility.
Ensure trading decisions align with governance standards.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and economic indicators.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and supply agreements.
Oversee the supply chain and logistics for assigned commodities.
Represent the company at industry events to build partnerships.
Lead, mentor, and develop a junior merchant.
