Job summary

Abnormal AI is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to own FedRAMP security operations across cloud systems, focusing on CI/CD security, patch management, and incident response. The role requires hands-on expertise with IAM, SIEM, and secure image pipelines, and involves coordinating with DevInfra, FedOps, Product, and Compliance teams to enforce secure practices.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in federal/cloud security, strong NIST 800-53 knowledge, and a track record of secure AWS/SaaS

Qualifications

• 5–7 years in security engineering or infrastructure operations in federal or regulated cloud environments.
• Strong familiarity with NIST 800-53 controls and continuous monitoring practices.
• Proven delivery of AWS/SaaS security best practices.
• Hands-on with CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and IaC security practices.
• Experience in patch management, hardened baselines, and secure image pipelines.
• IAM design and enforcement in large-scale environments.
• Proven ability to manage SIEM pipelines and lead incident response.
• Strong technical documentation and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines for secure deployments and infrastructure workflows.
• Manage IaC PRs and Change Control Board reviews for tested, approved changes.
• Perform security impact analyses for system changes and provide recommendations.
• Run OS and infrastructure patch cycles and maintain hardened images.
• Govern access management, including provisioning and periodic reviews.
• Manage logging and monitoring pipelines; tune SIEM ingested data and alerts.
• Triage and respond to security incidents from detection to recovery.
• Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and audit-ready documentation.
• Collaborate with DevInfra, FedOps, Product, and Compliance teams to embed secure practices.
