Job summary

Empower AI in Reston, VA seeks a senior Cloud Engineer to architect and manage cloud infrastructure for Army IT managed services. You will lead migration efforts, ensuring secure, compliant operations across hybrid environments and collaborating with cybersecurity and FinOps teams.

The role requires DoD/8570 IAT II compliance, cloud certifications, and hands-on experience with Terraform, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, plus virtualization and container tech.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of hands-on cloud engineering experience, including cloud migrations or modernization programs.
• CompTIA Security+ CE certification — required (DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II compliant).
• Active cloud certification (AWS/Azure/Google) required.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on FedRAMP-authorized platforms.
• Lead cloud migration efforts including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and cloud-native refactoring.
• Maintain hybrid cloud operations with on-premises integration and governance.
