Job summary

DFAS in Ohio seeks an experienced accounting professional to support the department and provide advisory services. The role includes interpreting accounting principles, policies and procedures, and suggesting revisions to regulations and guidance.

You will also participate in team activities, coach others, and help organize work to meet objectives. The incumbent may operate or modify systems to align with local needs, while complying with security and federal employment requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with 24 semester hours in accounting (up to 6 hours in business law).
• Equivalent combination: 4 years accounting experience + 24 hours in accounting/auditing (up to 6 hours business law) or CPA/CIA certificate.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the work of the team, coaches and facilitates problem solving techniques, leads the team to identify solutions and organize work.
• Provides professional accounting advisory services related to accounting principles, policies, and procedures.
• Interprets and proposes revisions of regulations and policy guidance.
• Operates, maintains, or modifies systems to meet local needs.
