Job summary

Qualifications

• 4+ years of editing experience with a media organization, handling content.
• Outstanding editorial judgement and attention to detail.
• Excellent writing and verbal communications; strong knowledge of National Geographic brand and mission.
• Ability to lead concept development and manage creator relationships.
• Strong multi-project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage development, commissioning and editing of stories and packages; develop new franchises and coverage approaches.
• Oversee related workflows to ensure timely delivery, adherence to word counts, factual accuracy and specs.
• Develop and maintain relationships with writers and industry professionals; cultivate diverse voices.
• Report to Senior Manager, Features; assist in project development, contracts, scheduling, and production tasks.
