Marshall & Taylor, PLLC, a North Carolina family law firm, seeks a NC State Bar Certified Senior Family Law Paralegal to join our Raleigh team. The ideal candidate will independently manage a substantial caseload, anticipate deadlines, prepare for hearings and trials, and communicate confidently with clients and attorneys.

You should take ownership, prioritize effectively, and exercise professional judgment in a fast-paced environment. Compensation ranges from $75,000 to $85,000 annually.

Qualifications

• 7+ years paralegal experience, with significant family law experience.
• Strong North Carolina family law experience preferred.
• North Carolina Certified Paralegal designation.
• ABA-approved paralegal certificate, associate degree in paralegal studies, bachelor's degree, or comparable education and experience.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage a substantial caseload and deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of family law litigation, court procedures, discovery, and case preparation.
• Experience drafting family law pleadings, discovery, motions, affidavits, correspondence, and other documents.
• Experience preparing cases for hearings, mediation, depositions, and trial.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of day-to-day management of assigned family law matters from initial preparation through resolution.
• Independently manage case files, deadlines, calendars, pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and other case-related tasks.
• Maintain detailed working knowledge of each assigned matter and proactively identify upcoming deadlines and next steps.
• Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, affidavits, subpoenas, notices, correspondence, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Coordinate hearings, depositions, mediations, client meetings, service of process, and other case-related activities.
• Regularly review assigned matters to ensure progress and deadlines are met.
• Keep attorneys informed regarding case status, deadlines, and significant developments.
• Provide guidance to less-experienced paralegals when appropriate.
