Job summary

Mach Industries is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer, Factory Software to design and implement software that connects manufacturing equipment to factory operations. You will build integrations between MES, SCADA, data platforms, and edge devices, while establishing standards for IIoT and manufacturing data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/Mechatronics or related field.
  • 5+ years experience in industrial software or manufacturing data systems.
  • Experience deploying production software.
  • Experience integrating manufacturing equipment with higher-level software.
  • Experience with OPC UA, MQTT, REST APIs.
  • Experience designing APIs and data pipelines for industrial apps.
  • Experience GUI/HMI applications used by engineers/operators.
  • Git-based version control, CI/CD, automated testing, containerization.
  • Edge devices deployment to industrial PCs and edge compute hardware.
  • Knowledge of MES/SCADA/OEE metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy factory software connecting equipment, edge devices, MES, SCADA, historians, and data infrastructure.
  • Evaluate commercial factory software platforms and lead technical proof-of-concept implementations.
  • Develop integrations between engineering and manufacturing systems including PLM, MES, QMS, and data platforms.
  • Build and maintain APIs and data pipelines using REST, OPC UA, MQTT, and DDS.
  • Develop standardized equipment data models, machine states, events, alarms, production records, and naming conventions.
  • Define requirements for collecting machine, process, quality, and vision data into Mach's manufacturing data infrastructure.
  • Develop IIoT connectivity patterns for machines, sensors, edge devices, and factory applications.
  • Develop interfaces between Beckhoff TwinCAT equipment controls and higher-level factory software.
  • Build GUI applications, web applications, and industrial HMI tools for engineers and operators.
  • Develop OEE dashboards and analytics for availability, performance, downtime, cycle time, throughput, yield, and utilization.
  • Develop tools that enable engineering to analyze and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Establish CI/CD, automated testing, version control, containerization, and repeatable deployment workflows.
  • Deploy and support applications on industrial PCs, edge compute hardware, and centralized infrastructure.
  • Develop reusable libraries, services, APIs, and integration patterns for production deployment.
