Job summary

NI2 Health, an Infinx Company, seeks a Senior Facility Coder with 5+ years of hospital coding experience to review entire encounters and ensure accurate coding across Inpatient, Observation, Swing Bed and Ambulatory Surgery. You will research complex cases, maintain compliance, and manage multiple client assignments remotely.

Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT/HCPCS, MS-DRGs, and coding guidelines is essential, along with independent work ethic and collaborative team engagement in a remote,

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of recent hospital/facility coding experience.
  • Experience coding Inpatient, Observation, Swing Bed, and Ambulatory Surgery.
  • One-path coding experience required.
  • CCS certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT/HCPCS, MS-DRGs, and official coding guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple client assignments.
  • Strong critical-thinking, research, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a minimum 95% coding accuracy rate while meeting established productivity standards.
  • Experience with multiple EHR systems and Critical Access Hospitals is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA, documentation standards, and audit expectations.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, metric-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate one-path coding for Inpatient, Observation, Swing Bed, and Ambulatory Surgery encounters.
  • Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT/HCPCS codes and modifiers.
  • Accurately assign and validate MS-DRGs when applicable.
  • Review the complete medical record to ensure diagnoses and procedures are supported by provider documentation.
  • Identify documentation requiring clarification and initiate compliant provider queries when appropriate.
  • Apply official coding guidelines, CMS requirements, and client-specific coding policies.
  • Manage coding responsibilities across multiple clients while meeting productivity and turnaround expectations.
  • Research complex coding issues and appropriately
  • Maintain current knowledge of coding and regulatory updates.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Facility Coder with a minimum of 5 years of hospital/facility coding experience. The ideal candidate will have experience with one-path coding for Inpatient, Observation, Swing Bed, and Ambulatory Surgery encounters. We are looking for more than someone who can assign codes. We need an experienced coder who can review the entire encounter, understand the clinical picture, recognize documentation and compliance concerns, research complex coding scenarios, and confidently manage multiple client responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and productivity. The ideal candidate is dependable, accountable, adaptable, and comfortable working independently while also being an effective member of a collaborative coding and auditing team.
