Job summary

Chugach Government Solutions (CGS) seeks a Chief Engineer to oversee all physical plant and building operations for large facilities, including power plant systems and infrastructure maintenance. This role requires expert technical knowledge, leadership, and compliance with security standards in a high-security federal environment.

Pay rate is $57.25/hour. The position is on-site in Arlington, VA, with supervisory responsibilities for engineering staff and daily operations planning.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of supervisory experience in physical plant and building operations, including power plants.
• Certifications in equipment operations.
• Active Secret Security Clearance.
• Licenses required: AFE OPE, USCG Third Assistant Engineer, US State Stationary Engineer, DC 3rd Class Steam Engineer (must obtain 1st Class within two years).

Responsibilities

• Manage physical plant and building operations, including power plants for large facilities.
• Supervise engineering and maintenance personnel with responsibility for daily operations, troubleshooting, and long-term planning.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and technical standards.
• Oversee maintenance, repairs, and operation of critical building systems and equipment.
• Coordinate with leadership, contractors, and inspectors on operational requirements and facility support.
• Maintain readiness to operate within a facility requiring Secret-level clearance.
