Job summary

EQT Corporation in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Facilities Instrumentation and Electrical Engineer I/II/III/Sr. to design, install, and continuously improve automation and control systems across upstream facilities.

You will work with operations and external partners to optimize networks and drive reliability. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, 2+ years of automation/controls experience, and a willingness to travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in automation and controls engineering.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Petroleum / Chemical / Electrical / Computer).
• Valid driver's license required.
• Understanding of process flow & equipment used for separation of fluids in oil and gas wells.
• Familiarity with standards: ASME, ANSI, API, ISA, NFPA, IEEE, IEC 61131, NEC.
• Experience with hazard mitigation and root cause analysis.
• Experience with engineering drawing packages (C&E, BOM, controller programming, JB drawings, instrument cabling, etc.).
• Knowledge of edge device computing and related communication/programming.
• Strong cost management and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and technical writing abilities.
• Willingness to travel 15–20% and to work flexible hours including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance in instrumentation design across projects.
• Own automation/Instrumentation & Electrical design planning and execution for upstream facilities.
• Develop and evolve standards, specifications, and guidance for automation and I&E.
• Manage projects and budgets for M&I and I&E work at upstream facilities.
• Develop KPIs and metrics aligned with executive targets.
• Coordinate with drafting and external engineers on C&E/BOM, controller programming, and drawings.
• Review instrument indices for new/repair/upgraded facilities.
• Lead meetings to review designs and models for M&I/Electrical projects.
• Align operations with M&I engineers and optimize controls on-site.
• Bridge upstream facility data with machine learning initiatives.
