Job summary

State of Wisconsin is seeking a Buildings & Grounds Superintendent at Waupun Correctional Institution to lead maintenance, safety, and construction efforts. You will supervise skilled staff, coordinate projects, and ensure code compliance while managing budgets and records.

The role requires overseeing preventative maintenance, inmate worker supervision, and coordination with architects/engineers/contractors.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and directing a buildings and grounds maintenance program.
• Experience supervising construction/remodeling projects and coordinating work orders.
• Experience leading day-to-day operations and supervising staff.
• Experience working with architects/engineers/contractors on building projects.
• Experience developing capital project requests and reviewing blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Plans and directs the maintenance functions of the Institution and ensures safety and code compliance.
• Supervises Buildings/Grounds Supervisor, Power Plant Supervisors, and maintenance staff.
• Manages budget, record keeping, and other administrative duties; coordinates construction/remodeling projects.
• Maintains preventative maintenance programs and security in work areas; supervises inmate workers.
