Job summary

Afton Scientific is seeking a highly skilled Senior Facilities Engineer to join our Virginia-based Facilities team. This role provides hands-on technical support for pharmaceutical equipment to maintain safe, reliable, and compliant manufacturing operations across sterile production lines.

You will work with Manufacturing, Engineering, MS&T, EHS, and other support functions to troubleshoot issues, drive preventive maintenance, and support technology transfers and new product introductions within

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of maintenance experience with manufacturing equipment
• Experience in a sterile fill-finish environment
• Strong understanding of GMP standards and regulatory requirements
• Ability to work independently following procedures
• Background in continuous process improvement
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical resource to production teams and provide hands-on support for process equipment
• Act as first responder for equipment malfunctions and drive timely troubleshooting and resolution
• Support equipment including fill lines, isolators, autoclaves, and related machinery
• Collaborate with owners, engineers, vendors, and other resources to diagnose and resolve issues
• Support preventive maintenance and calibration activities and inventory of spare parts
• Maintain GMP records and Batch Records and SOPs
• Participate in on-call rotations to monitor equipment and respond to issues
