Job summary

Confidential Food Manufacturer in Chicago seeks an experienced Facilities Engineer to own facility engineering for a large, automated campus. The role is designed for leaders who understand complex industrial facilities and can manage contractors, budgets, and compliance.

The position emphasizes ownership of a broad range of facility systems, from HVAC and boilers to electrical distribution, with a focus on preventive maintenance and safety alignment across operations.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred or equivalent combination of certifications or 5+ years in facilities engineering leadership in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facility engineering functions including stationary engineering, HVAC, boilers, building maintenance and systems.
• Manage on-site contractors across trades; ensure work meets standards, timelines, and safety requirements.
• Supervise stationary engineers and welder qualification programs as needed.
• Oversee wastewater treatment systems and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop and manage capital project budgets, scopes, and schedules for improvements.
