Job Overview

The Senior Facilities Engineer will oversee planning, managing, and executing facilities projects at Give & Go’s Uncle Wally's site. The role involves providing technical support to Operations and Engineering, establishing standards, policies, and procedures to enhance departmental performance, and responding to information requests.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

• Plan, manage, and execute facilities projects at the Uncle Wally's site.
• Create and manage project budgets, timelines, and specifications, considering client requests, management needs, technical requirements, budgets, and safety codes.
• Develop detailed project plans using MS Project, manage progress, and resolve issues affecting project scope, quality, or cost, while managing contractors and client expectations.
• Analyze project scope, prepare RFPs/RFQs, and manage tender processes, including overseeing purchasing committees.
• Perform engineering calculations and reviews as needed.
• Manage third-party Architects and Engineers for design development, ensuring drawings meet standards and specifications.
• Handle government documentation for permits such as building, environmental, and site plan approvals.
• Manage project costs, tenders, and budgets, including overseeing construction and change orders.
• Coordinate design and space planning with suppliers, researching construction trends for quality and cost improvements.

Human Resource Management

• Hire and oversee performance of Architects, Engineers, and contractors.
• Provide leadership aligned with Give & Go values.
• Review work quality, set priorities, and lead problem-solving initiatives.
• Conduct training and mentorship for staff.

Operations

• Support operational continuity through technical assistance.
• Establish and update standards, policies, and site drawings.
• Respond to information requests and maintain documentation.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Organize safety meetings and ensure MSDS compliance.
• Stop work if safety violations occur.
• Coordinate removal of designated substances with HSE and ensure compliance with legislation.
• Support HSE initiatives and safety reviews.

The Recipe For Success

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering.
• At least 8 years of project management experience, especially in infrastructure and facilities within regulated manufacturing industries.
• Professional Engineering License.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and understanding of facility systems and codes.
• Experience with construction tendering and contracts.
