Job summary

Perrigo is hiring a Facilities Engineer to support our Allegan & Holland manufacturing facilities. The Facility Engineer manages facilities-related capital projects by controlling costs, timelines and customer expectations.

Ensures ongoing facility work stays within budget, supports maintenance in troubleshooting issues, investigates and pursues innovative ideas to reduce costs, improve quality and increase productivity to support the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, Energy Management software; experience with AutoCAD.
• Ability to write technical reports and develop data gathering schedules.
• 10–15 years managing capital projects and troubleshooting industrial situations; 5–7 years pharmaceutical experience.
• Experience coordinating tradespersons and interdepartmental coordination.
• Knowledge of facilities equipment design and operation.

Responsibilities

• Manages facility-related projects, provides troubleshooting capability, and develops/ reviews procedures and standards; completes functions on time and budget.
• Coordinates support staff and contractors to meet customer expectations; provides direction for maintenance activities; interfaces with managers to remove roadblocks.
• Maintains primary accountability for main plant utility systems: boilers, purified water, wastewater, domestic water, and fire protection; also parking lots, roofs and floors.
• Supports and communicates maintenance goals; maintains a safe work environment and lowest possible accident rate.
• Manages budgets for ongoing facility support services and ensures projects are completed on time.
• Provides input on strategic direction for facilities and supporting infrastructure.
