Job summary

Crecera Brands is seeking a Senior Safety & Maintenance Manager to oversee safety, facility maintenance, and equipment reliability at our fulfillment center in Indiana. You will partner with Operations and HR to maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient workspace while minimizing downtime.

The role requires leading safety programs, conducting inspections, coordinating training, managing budgets, and directing maintenance and outside vendors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in safety, maintenance, or ops leadership.
• Experience in fulfillment or distribution centers.
• OSHA regulations knowledge.
• Experience with preventive maintenance.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or safety certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety programs and initiatives.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and workplace safety.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and identify hazards.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain safety records and OSHA logs.
• Coordinate safety training and new-hire orientation.
• Oversee PPE, lockout/tagout, hazcomm, emergency response, and powered industrial truck safety.
• Partner with Operations and HR to promote a safety culture.
• Oversee day-to-day Loss Prevention and Firearms Compliance.
• Oversee maintenance and repair of facility equipment.
• Manage preventive maintenance programs and reliability.
• Coordinate repairs for MHE, conveyors, docks, HVAC, electrical, plumbing.
• Manage outside contractors and vendors.
• Maintain service schedules and equipment documentation.
• Provide leadership to safety and maintenance teams.
• Track safety/maintenance metrics and report to leadership.
• Manage budgets, vendors, and supplies for safety and maintenance.

Job description

The Senior Safety & Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing safety, facility maintenance, and equipment reliability within the fulfillment center. This role partners with Operations and Human Resources to maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment while minimizing equipment downtime and facility disruptions.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

• Lead and maintain the facility’s safety programs and initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
• Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, and near misses and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain required safety records, documentation, and OSHA logs.
• Coordinate employee safety training and new-hire safety orientation.
• Oversee key programs including PPE, lockout/tagout, hazard communication, emergency response, and powered industrial truck safety.
• Partner with Operations and HR to promote a strong safety culture and reduce workplace injuries.
• Oversees day-to-day operations of Loss Prevention and Firearms Compliance.

Maintenance & Facilities

• Oversee maintenance and repair of facility equipment, building systems, and infrastructure.
• Manage preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Coordinate repairs for material handling equipment, conveyors, docks, racking, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other facility systems.
• Manage outside contractors and maintenance vendors.
• Maintain service schedules, maintenance records, and equipment documentation.
• Support facility improvements, equipment installations, and other operational projects.
• Serve as the primary site resource for safety and maintenance matters.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, equipment reliability, and facility operations.
• Track key safety and maintenance metrics and communicate results to leadership.
• Manage safety and maintenance budgets, vendors, and supplies.
• Provide leadership and direction to safety and maintenance team members, as applicable.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in safety, maintenance, facilities, or operational leadership.
• Experience in a fulfillment center, distribution center, warehouse, or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and workplace safety practices.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and facility/equipment management.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant safety certifications preferred.

This position requires regular presence throughout the fulfillment center, including walking operational areas and working around material handling equipment. Occasional after-hours availability may be required for urgent safety or facility needs.
