Job summary

Kids for the Future in Lincoln seeks an experienced Fabrication Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day operations of the fabrication department, leading welders, fabricators, and laborers to meet production schedules while upholding safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will read blueprints, plan work, coordinate with project managers, and drive continuous improvement in productivity and material usage through strong leadership and hands-on problem solving.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in metal fabrication/welding or related field.
• 2+ years leading fabrication crews or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
• Ability to plan, assign work, and drive team accountability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fabrication dept daily operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and schedule adherence.
• Plan, coordinate, and prioritize fabrication work per project needs.
• Supervise welders, fabricators, and laborers; allocate materials and tools.
• Monitor progress, adjust manpower/workflow to meet deadlines.
• Ensure products meet quality standards and review drawings for accuracy.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and leadership to resolve issues.
• Lead continuous improvement, reduce waste, and optimize production.
