Job summary

The Boeing Company seeks an F/A-18 Super Hornet Avionics Technician to join the NAS JRB New Orleans team in Belle Chasse, LA. This 100% onsite role may require work at the Stennis Facility in Kiln, MS.

You will maintain avionics/electrical systems, replace components, and perform routine and special inspections to ensure airworthiness. Required: at least 5 years of military fighter aircraft maintenance, ability to lift 35 pounds, and experience reading technical manuals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in military fighter aircraft maintenance.
• Must be able to read and interpret technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Willing to work variable shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintains aircraft avionics/electrical systems and related equipment.
• Removes and installs avionics/electrical components and gear.
• Performs daily, pre/post flight and periodic aircraft inspections.
• Conducts flight operation activities including plane captain duties.
• Oversees assembly/disassembly or overhaul and tests systems for faults.
• Documents procedures and results to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Ensures flight worthiness of inspected components and oversees training.
