Job summary

Spectrum Brands, Inc. is seeking a Senior Machine Operator for our St. Louis area pet care manufacturing environment. You will set up extrusion equipment, run production lines, and ensure quality pellets while adhering to HACCP, GMP, and FDA standards.

The role requires 3+ years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long shifts, and work on 2nd shift after training (2:00 pm - 10:00 pm).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3 years related experience and/or training.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate food extrusion machines to produce pellets according to recipe and specifications.
• Load and verify raw ingredients based on batch sheets.
• Control, monitor, and adjust key parameters (temperature zones, moisture, screw speed, pressure).
• Ensure consistent pellet size, shape, texture, and density.
• Maintain HACCP, GMP, and FDA/compliance in daily duties.
• Train operators on machine operation, hygiene, and safety.
• Perform cleaning and sanitation of equipment and perform changeovers.
