Job summary

The City of Buffalo is seeking an Exterminator Supervisor to oversee licensed Exterminators and manage all skilled extermination work. The role emphasizes planning, independent decision-making, and cost estimation for pest control operations.

The incumbent will supervise equipment use, maintain records, ensure compliance with Animal Control laws and city ordinances, and assist in public education on pest prevention.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time experience working as an Exterminator or in a pest control role.
• Must possess a current NYS Driver's License at time of appointment.
• Commercial Pesticide Applicators Certificate must be presented at appointment.
• Nuisance Control License required within 12 months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Plans, supervises and coordinates extermination to control ants, insects, pests, rodents and roaches.
• Directs mixing and storage of chemicals and poisons and supervises spraying operations.
• Maintains equipment, inventories materials and prepares cost estimates for jobs.
• Inspects properties prior to demolition for pests and monitors compliance with laws.
• Keeps detailed records and submits reports as required; educates public on prevention.
