Job summary

Byte Systems, a VTG subsidiary, is seeking a Senior/Expert Database Developer to design, build, and optimize databases for data collection, storage, access, and analytics at enterprise scale. You will ensure data is available, accessible, and secure for stakeholders.

Responsibilities include writing and debugging Stored Procedures, optimizing complex SQL, and designing tables with clear schemas, indexing, and partitioning.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in database management, SQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience translating data collection requirements into implementable solutions.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to analyze data sources for accuracy and apply appropriate logic.
• Excellent communication with colleagues via multiple channels.
• Linux experience.

• Write, maintain, and debug Stored Procedures
• Work with various analysts to craft requirements
• Optimize SQL queries run against TBs of data
• Design database tables with clear schemas, appropriate indexing, and logical partitioning

Do you have what it takes?

• 7+ years experience with Database Management, SQL, PostgreSQL.
• Experience taking data collection requirements and translating those requirements into implementable solutions.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, ability to design solutions and troubleshoot issues effectively.
• Analyze data sources for accuracy, data prioritization, and apply appropriate logic to developed solutions.
• Communication skills to collaborate with colleagues via multiple communications channels.
• Linux experience

Pay Range: VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $180,000-$230,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
