We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Science Expert to join our team. You will collaborate with scientists across disease and functional areas to advance research and drug development, especially in Cardiovascular, Renal, and Metabolic programs.

Working with the CRM Scientific Lead (Cardio-Renal-Metabolic), you will be part of our Data42 Data Science function, collaborating with scientists, clinicians, and data scientists in relevant disease areas, as well as with our AICS (AI and Computer Science) colleagues.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Leading projects and effectively communicating with stakeholders and collaborators.
  2. Developing cutting-edge AI models.
  3. Designing and developing clinical pipelines and customizing pooled trial data to address scientific questions such as indication expansion, asset differentiation, patient subgroup identification, and biomarker discovery.
  4. Designing, using, and improving bioinformatics tools and models for integrating diverse biological data layers.
  5. Connecting data resources with project teams to enhance hypothesis generation through insights from pipeline data.
Requirements
  • Strong scientific research background with demonstrated ability to answer critical questions using AI/ML.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences, including peers, stakeholders, and non-experts.
  • Proven ability to rapidly learn new subject areas and demonstrate a willingness to step outside comfort zones.
  • PhD in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Physics, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics) with proven ML/AI experience.
Preferred Technical Skills
  • Machine Learning & Data Science: Supervised/unsupervised learning, Deep learning, Feature engineering, Dimensionality reduction, Anomaly detection, Statistical inference, Time series analysis, Data visualization.
  • Programming & Tools: Python (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch), R, SQL, MATLAB, Spark, Git, Docker, Cloud (AWS).
  • Data Engineering: Data cleaning, SQL, model deployment, big data processing.
  • Experience with clinical or other life sciences data (e.g., omics, pre-clinical, claims) is a plus. Ability to communicate complex analyses effectively.
  • Strong scientific curiosity, initiative, and learning agility.
  • Ability to work interdisciplinary with clinicians, biologists, chemists, and data scientists.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and virtual communication skills.
  • Prior experience with NGS and –omics data is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

The starting salary range is $119,700 to $222,300 annually, with potential adjustments based on market and individual factors. The total package may include bonuses, stock units, and comprehensive benefits like medical, 401(k), and paid leave. Details will be provided upon offer.
