Job summary

Ayers Saint Gross in Baltimore is seeking a seasoned Graphic Designer to join our studio, shaping visual communication across higher education, cultural, and institutional projects. You’ll integrate typography, information design, and signage with architecture to create engaging environments.

You will collaborate with architects, interior designers, planners, and vendors, guiding ideas from concept to realization while maintaining high craft and brand consistency.

Qualifications

• BFA or similar degree in graphic design.
• 5–7 years of professional experience in a design studio, architecture practice, or in-house environment.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and PowerPoint.
• Experience with environmental graphic design, signage, wayfinding, or visual communication for built environments.
• Knowledge of typography, visual design, information design, and brand guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Shape meaningful visual experiences by connecting brand, identity, information, and environment.
• Design for built environments with signage, wayfinding, and environmental graphics.
• Translate brands into cohesive physical environments and touchpoints.
• Collaborate across disciplines with architects, planners, fabricators, and consultants.
• Develop thoughtful wayfinding systems considering hierarchy, typography, color, and accessibility.
• Lead projects with multiple priorities, budgets, and deadlines.
